Authorities arrested him on Monday, charged with and criminal possession of a weapon. Details of the November Shooting The serious shooting took place in the middle of the night of 16 November, outside a popular New York City restaurant. Law enforcement described the event as a dispute with a unknown individuals. Boyd, 29 years old, was accompanied by two other Jets players and a friend in a central part of New York City when the taunting began. It resulted in a fight, during which it is alleged Green shot the athlete twice in the abdomen. The shooting took place outside a dining establishment in Midtown Manhattan Severe Injuries and Recovery The bullet struck Boyd's pulmonary organ and lodged in his major blood vessel near the heart. He was rushed to hospital in serious condition but was subsequently sent home. Sources state he has recently seen his fellow players at a team training location. Investigation and Apprehension in Another City Surveillance video from the scene allegedly captured Green fleeing and entering a vehicle operated by another person. Police took into custody Green on 8 December in a city approximately 580km away, where he was found at his girlfriend's apartment. A official announcement noted that "a person of interest" had been arrested. When officers surrounded the building, the suspect was seen "looking out the apartment window looking for an way out but went back in after noticing the team and a canine officer," the statement noted. The stand-off ended soon after, when the suspect left the residence with his hands up. The accused had "altered his looks likely to evade capture," law enforcement stated further. The Player's Professional History Prior to signing with the Jets earlier this year, Boyd was a member of the and Minnesota Vikings over several years in the league. The cornerback had been on injured reserve for the Jets after sustaining a shoulder injury during practice in the late summer.
